Construction Estimator in Los Alamitos
Estimator
Location: Los Alamitos, CA (Greater Los Angeles assignments considered)
Schedule: MondayâFriday, 7:00 AMâ4:00 PM
Compensation: $80,000â$135,000 (DOE)
A well-established electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Estimator to support preconstruction efforts across complex commercial and infrastructure projects. This role works closely with leadership and project teams to deliver accurate, competitive cost estimates from concept through bid.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates using plans, specifications, and conceptual data
Perform quantity take-offs and review drawings for scope, risks, and special requirements
Develop and submit complete bid packages for internal review and client submission
Evaluate scope changes, pricing impacts, and change orders
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids (RFQs/RFPs)
Provide value engineering recommendations and cost analysis
Collaborate with internal teams and support senior leadership during preconstruction
Qualifications
5+ years of electrical construction estimating experience
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, low-voltage work, and applicable codes (NEC, Title 24, CBC)
Experience with design-build projects preferred
Proficient in Accubid and Microsoft Excel/Word
Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
