Shipping and Receiving Coordinator 

The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator ensures the safe, timely, and cost-effective movement of raw materials and finished goods. This role keeps internal teams and external customers informed of delivery status while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all shipping and receiving operations.

Key Responsibilities

Shipping and Receiving Operations:

  • Monitor production status of products and components by attending meetings, reviewing shift reports, and tracking production schedules.
  • Plan daily loader assignments to meet performance, safety, and efficiency targets.
  • Schedule and document all incoming and outgoing shipments in coordination with distribution centers, Corporate Logistics, and transportation partners.
  • Ensure shipping and receiving records are accurate, including SAP entries, with transactions completed within 24 hours of shipment.
  • Communicate load, delivery, and freight details to customers and internal teams, including accounting and customer service.
  • Ensure accuracy of all shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs paperwork.
  • Maintain and update backlog and finished goods reports to reflect accurate inventory and shipping status.
  • Monitor customer credit status in coordination with Finance and Customer Service.

Team and Supervision:

  • Supervise loaders, ensuring work pace, quality, and safety standards are met.
  • Provide guidance and direction to the team, including proper documentation of outbound loads and scanning of bills of lading.
  • Organize and file all shipping and receiving paperwork systematically.

Facility and Process Management:

  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe shipping/receiving docks, inventory areas, yard, and other outdoor spaces.
  • Participate in problem-solving, complaint resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with plant management, purchasing, and finance to find cost-effective transportation solutions.
  • Follow company Code of Conduct, Group Compliance policies, and internal procedures.

Other Duties:

  • Perform housekeeping, maintenance, and organization tasks in shipping and receiving areas.
  • Ensure proper use of focused improvement tools to address operational issues.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to supervise and motivate team members effectively.

Supervisory Responsibility

This role supervises the Loader position.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
  • Required vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.

Position Type / Hours

  • Full-time: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., 40 hours/week
  • Overtime may be required, especially during month-end busy periods and Saturdays

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in shipping and receiving

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience with relevant software applications (e.g., SAP)
  • Forklift operation experience
