Mechanical Assembler
Job Summary
Under general supervision, performs electronic equipment and point to point wire harness assembly as well as solder operations in accordance with complex manufacturing specifications, schematics and process instructions. Produces high quality work while maintaining accurate documentation.
Primary Responsibilities

Using assembly instructions/schematics/drawings/process specifications and various small hand tools, builds a variety of complex electromechanical equipment assemblies to meet requirements

Must be able to read and understand schematics and wiring diagrams with the expertise to review and provide feedback if necessary.

Production final assemblies and sub-assemblies following verbal direction, prototype drawings and production drawings.

Completes quality assembly work in a timely manner

Using solder seal, and touch-up irons, solders assemblies in accordance with process instructions

Position and align parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device

Crimp, stake, screw, bolt, rivet, weld, solder, cement, press fit, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place

Mount assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on chassis panel

Connect component lead wires to printed circuit or route and connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points

Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets * Assemble and attach hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches, to assemblies

Perform intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color-coding parts and assemblies
