Aerospace Production Expeditor
Location: West Covina, CA (On-site)
Industry: Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing
Pay: $28â$32/hr (DOE)
4/10 5am to 330pm mon-thur
Position Overview
The Aerospace Production Expeditor ensures materials, components, and assemblies move efficiently through the production process to support on-time delivery for aerospace programs. This role interfaces closely with supply chain, procurement, production, and engineering to identify bottlenecks, resolve delays, and maintain accurate status visibility in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Material & Production Coordination
• Monitor flow of raw materials, machined parts, assemblies & components to ensure deadlines are met
• Identify bottlenecks, shortfalls, and schedule risks; collaborate with management to plan corrective actions
• Issue materials to jobs and ensure timely arrival at work centers
• Coordinate with procurement & suppliers regarding delayed, short, or missing shipments
• Support inventory management activities, including daily cycle counts
Schedule & Workflow Management
• Review daily/weekly production schedules to assess risks to customer & program commitments
• Work with Production Leadership to sequence or reprioritize work to optimize throughput
• Resolve shop-floor shortages and expedite urgent components
Communication & Cross-Functional Support
• Act as liaison across production, supply chain, procurement, engineering, and quality teams
• Provide real-time visibility into parts availability, shortages, and progress
• Partner with engineering on workflow disruptions requiring updated documentation or technical support
Inventory & Data Management
• Maintain accurate ERP/MRP records (Epicor preferred)
• Track open POs, backorders, and critical shortages
• Analyze inventory levels to prevent stockouts/overstocking of aerospace components
Problem Resolution & Continuous Improvement
• Investigate root causes of delays and recommend preventative solutions
• Escalate critical issues impacting aerospace certification, schedule, or delivery performance
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across workflow, supply chain, and data accuracy
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Experience in production control, supply chain, expediting, or manufacturing (aerospace/defense preferred)
• Understanding of aerospace manufacturing environments (AS9100, NADCAP, DoD)
• ERP/MRP proficiency (Epicor strongly preferred)
• Strong communication & cross-functional coordination skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
• High attention to detail & strong analytical capability
Preferred Qualifications
• Associateâs or Bachelorâs degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
• Experience with lean/continuous improvement (5S, Kaizen, Kanban)
• Familiarity with aerospace components (mechanical/electrical/structural)
