Senior Accountant

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing key accounting functions and preparing financial reports that monitor the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax obligations, and other financial activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and related reports.

• Oversee fixed asset management, including asset setup, depreciation, disposals, and inventory tracking.

• Support cash management activities.

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations.

• Conduct account analyses as assigned.

• Perform detailed analysis of inventory and freight expenses.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.

• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

• Collaborate with internal and external auditors by preparing required documentation for annual audits.

• Prepare and file required tax forms with federal, state, and local agencies.

• Provide general support to the accounting department and assist with audits as needed.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge & Technical Skills

• Experience with accounting software systems.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Strong Excel skills.

• Understanding of general ledger (G/L), subsidiary ledgers, journal entries (JEs), and core accounting principles.

• Experience working with ERP systems preferred.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills (fluent in English).

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation abilities.

• Customer service and client communication experience.

• Self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

• Prior experience in an accounting role required.

Pay Range: $36–$40 per hour (based on experience)
