Job Title: CNC Operator (R&D Environment)

Summary:
Responsible for operating CNC machines including mills, lathes with live tooling, and mill-turn centers in an R&D setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC machines and monitor performance during machining processes
• Set up, adjust, and edit CNC programs as needed
• Work with multiple machines or processes at the same time
• Inspect and measure parts using precision measuring tools
• Perform routine and advanced machine maintenance and troubleshooting
• Adjust machine controls such as speed, feed, depth, and coolant flow
• Ensure parts meet blueprint and specification requirements
• Maintain safe work practices and report hazards or injuries immediately
• Maintain attendance, punctuality, and a professional, team-oriented attitude
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with coworkers and supervisors
• Follow instructions and complete additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of CNC setup and operating experience (mills, lathes, mill-turn preferred)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing specifications
• Strong math skills, including algebra and trigonometry
• Experience in an R&D or prototype environment preferred
• Knowledge of Mastercam or Esprit is a plus
• Ability to determine machining methods and operation sequences

Education:

• Associate degree, technical certification, or journeyman status preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
• Regular standing, sitting, and use of hands for precision work
• Occasional bending, reaching, and movement around machinery
• Good vision required, including depth and color perception

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing shop environment with moderate noise levels
