Soldering

Position Title: Soldering Technician (Through-Hole)
Classification: Non-Exempt

The Soldering Technician is responsible for assembling and soldering electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) using surface mount (SMT) and through-hole techniques. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent manual dexterity, and strict adherence to quality and safety standards.

• Perform hand soldering of electronic components using SMT and through-hole methods
• Read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and work instructions
• Inspect solder joints to ensure quality and compliance with established standards
• Repair and rework defective assemblies as required
• Operate soldering equipment, including soldering irons, hot air tools, and desoldering equipment
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation in accordance with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protocols
• Identify and report defects, inconsistencies, or process issues
• Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
• Meet production schedules and quality requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic soldering experience (SMT and/or through-hole preferred)
• Ability to use hand tools and small electronic assembly equipment
• Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
• Ability to read and understand basic technical drawings and instructions
• High attention to detail

• IPC soldering certification (e.g., IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001)
• Prior experience in electronics manufacturing or assembly
• Familiarity with ESD safety practices
