Quality Control Inspector in Torrance, CA

Kinetic Personnel Group Torrance, CA (Onsite) Full-Time

Job Title: Quality Control Inspector

Pay Range: $19–$22/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Location : Torrance, CA

Language Requirements: Fluent in English (Spanish bilingual a plus)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Receiving

• Support the Material Control Coordinator as necessary with inspection and testing of materials to ensure product conformity

• Communicate with suppliers on quality and certification / compliance issues

• Tag all suspect material for disposition

• Prepare Corrective Actions / Discrepancy Reports for materials that do not meet requirements

In-process

• Maintain quality checks to ensure product conformance

• Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) on products as required by the customer

• Complete FA1 reports and submit them to management for review / approval

Shipping

• Shipping / Logistics Leader with product inspection

• Final Inspection…complete inspection based on QCP-1010

• Verify customer packets, including sales orders, worksheets, travelers, inspection reports, etc. are correct

• Verify product and part numbers are correct and match the Sales Order / PO

• Verify product certs meet customer requirements

• Verify labels, packing slip and stamps are on cartons and they match sales order

• Instruct Packer to seal cartons after final confirmation is complete

• Customer complaints…investigate customer inquiries regarding documentation or non-conformance issues

• Communicate quality issues to team members and other staff as necessary

• Implement methods to prevent flow-out of defects to the customer

• Collaborate with team to conduct root cause analysis of quality issues

• Recommend and assist in implementing corrective measures

• Verify effectiveness of corrective measures

• Prepare corrective actions report resulting from product nonconformities

Other Duties:

• Collect and compile statistical quality data as required / directed

• Implement methods to track quality progress

• Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system

• Develop, recommend, and monitor corrective and preventive actions

• Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements

• Communicate with receiving, shipping, office, and production personnel to ensure that any actions necessary are executed and effectively communicated to cognizant personnel

• Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience as a Quality Control Inspector in manufacturing

• Skilled in using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tolls

• Able to read and interpret part drawings / blueprints and technical drawings

• Strong attention to detail and organization skills

Education:

This position should have adequate education, experience, training, or a combination thereof to ensure that they are competent in executing this function. Senior management shall determine that the candidates and personnel have the proper credentials and skills necessary to successfully fulfill the responsibilities
